Description
The General Purpose Wagon (GPW) is a customized, non-self-propelled maintenance wagon designed for railway infrastructure maintenance along tracks, in tunnels, and within depots. It is primarily used for lifting, inspection, and light maintenance of ancillary railway equipment in hard-to-reach areas.
The GPW is equipped with a customized flat wagon featuring a braking system and end couplers, a diesel genset with specialized exhaust filters and a fume treatment system, and a customized articulated crane and cherry pickers for maintenance operations. Additional features include LED field lighting, distribution boards, and an integrated PLC/HMI-based main control panel with a safety monitoring and interlocking system to ensure secure operation.
This wagon enhances maintenance accessibility for elevated and graded track areas, tunnels, and depot service zones, supporting efficient railway upkeep with high reliability and operational flexibility.
